beagle,

I think you are continuing to drink as you attempt to explore AVRT. You are irritable, a raging bull in the china shop of your life.

Make a plan immediately for a safe detox, and discontinue the use of alcohol and other drugs at the soonest possible moment. Take The Internet Crash Course on AVRT on a day you haven’t been drinking/using. Read The New Cure understanding that your Beast is reading over your shoulder telling you what a load of shit AVRT is, what a disorganized jerk I am, and what a hopeless dirt bag you are.

Make a Big Plan as if your liife depends upon it becaues it does. If, after that, you consume any alcohol at all, or get high on other drugs, get registered for the next session of AVRT: The Course. Don’t worry about my character or motives; AVRT: The Course is dirt cheap and anyone who can afford an addiction can afford it.

You don’t need friends or support to defeat your addiction. You need only to start trusting yourself so that eventually others may also.

Too smart by half. YOU are not figuring out ways to get around it - your beast is. There is nothing superintelligent about the pleasure/survival center of your brain coming up with excuses to keep doing something it likes to do and to hell with your problems - it doesn't care. IT is clever, but not smart. Sober up long enough to study the materials available on this site and in the book.

Jack is right - you don't need friends or support - you need a plan.
